Hi, I'm Kelsey
I create participatory environments, empowering people to have a place in the stories that are told around them.
For more than 18 years my work has been dedicated to creating interactive, engaging and story led experiences. I’ve established myself as a go to partner for companies like Umpqua, OMSI, Portland Art Museum and Design Week here in Portland to design successful launches, exhibits and events.
Additionally I’ve worked around the US and Europe providing strategy, creative direction and design support to clients like the Walker Art Center (75th Anniversary Celebration), Venice’s Music Festival (Venezia Suona), the Minnesota State Fair (Giant Sing Along), London’s Royal Festival Hall (opening ceremony for the Queen of England) and Spain’s National Graphic Design Awards Ceremony (Los Premios Laus).
I’ve taught and spoken about what it means to create environments for meaningful participation at the Include Conference, Royal College of Art in London, the Banff New Media Institute and the Istituto Europeo di Design in Barcelona.
I frequently collaborate with dailytouslesjours.com and have written about inspiration and have archived lessons learned at the goodparticipation.com
I'd love to hear from you.

I love giving talks about what can make the environments around us places where everyday interaction can lead to compelling, irresistible, and worthwhile collective experiences.
My workshops are focused around sharing that practice in a hands-on way, and are often integrated into the kick-off process of client projects.
